Our dear friends, Rabbi Asher and Henya Federman from Chabad Virgin Islands, just lost their 4 month old daughter in a drowning accident. Henya who almost drowned as well is on life support.

Numerous airlifts, chartered and commercial flights, and care for the bereaved children have already amounted to hundreds of thousands of dollars. And more expense is anticipated in the coming days and months, as each child will require personal care and attention in this unthinkable situation.

As the family focuses on Henya’s medical care and on the needs of Asher and the children, let’s alleviate their financial concerns.

We are raising funds for the families major medical, burial, travel, therapy expenses that they've already incurred and will continue to incur. Can we count on you for a donation?

The Cause

Henya Federman AH, 40, Devoted Her Life to Locals and Visitors on the Virgin Islands
As Chabad Rebbetzins from all over the globe gather in Brooklyn, N.Y., to celebrate and gain inspiration at the International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Women Emissaries (Kinus Hashluchos), their joy is marred by the news of the passing of Henya Federman, beloved and pioneering Rebbetzin to the Virgin Islands. Mrs. Federman passed away at the age of 40 on Wednesday, Feb. 8 (17 Shevat), after battling for her life for more than two months in the aftermath of a St. Thomas water accident that claimed the life of her 4-month-old daughter, Shterna. Pulled out of the water and resuscitated after attempting to save her baby, Federman was flown first to Florida and then to Lakewood, NJ for emergency care. During the time that she lay hovering between life and death, countless people around the world increased in Torah, Tefilla and Tzedaka in her merit.
Rachmanim bnei rachmanim: The Federman family dedicated their lives to serving Jewish locals and thousands of visitors with Torah and Ahavas Yisroel. As the Federman family reels from this unimaginable tragedy, Klal Yisroel must unite together to provide for their financial security. HaShem will certainly give Rabbi Asher Federman and his 12 beautiful young children the strength to weather this storm. Let us do our part to ensure they are cared for by acheinu bnei yisroel.
All donated funds will be allocated for the Federman children’s chinuch, therapy and simchos. The fund is overseen by a committee of Shluchim, classmates of Rabbi Federman from around the world, and is administered by Lubavitch of Wisconsin.
