Team ZBT
Rabbi Dovid along with Goldie and the Illini Chabad have done more for the University of Illinois campus than most of you reading this could ever imagine. Specifically, they have done so much for the Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity at Illinois. Whether it is lighting the Hanukkah candles with brothers, having us over for a Shabbat dinner, or supporting us in difficult time of passing away of one of our brothers, Rabbi and Goldie are always there for us. For example, this past Hanukkah, Rabbi came to light Hanukkah candles multiple times at our chapter house, along with our senior houses and various apartments where our brothers reside. If it wasn’t for Rabbi, I am positive that over 90% of Jewish brothers in our fraternity would have never lit candles on their own or eaten a latke over the holidays.
As a fraternity, we cannot thank Rabbi and Goldie enough for all they have done for us throughout the years. But with that being said, it is not only ZBT or other Greek organizations that Illini Chabad supports. Rabbi is more than welcoming to all students on campus of all religions. If Illini Chabad and Rabbi Dovid didn’t exist on campus, the Jewish spirit would be near non-existent compared to where it is now. Rabbi and Goldie bring the Jewish energy to levels unimaginable to many.
What many people are not aware of is the fact that Illini Chabad is 100% donor based. Without donations like yours today, Illini Chabad would not be able to run the way it does. Which is why we cannot thank you enough for any contribution you can make to help us reach our goal. If $50,000 is raised in 48 hours, it will be matched, and $100,000 will be donated to Chabad. As ZBT, we set our goal to $20,000, ultimately raising $40,000. Of course, this will be no simple task; but we, as ZBT, want to give back as a chapter along with our parents. Let’s do it together; let’s share our Jewish pride and generosity, right here on our team page, so Illini Chabad can feel our support, as it always supports us!
